About the Department

The Department of Computer Science started in the year 2011. The Department offers two programmes: the first one is of 3 years undergraduate course BCA and the second one is a certificate course of one month. The curriculum is updated regularly to keep up with the growing demands and the changing trends of the software industry and research laboratories. The Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) programme was offered with the intake capacity of 60 students. It imparts knowledge on the basics of computer application and software development. The eligibility criteria for admission to the course is 45% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a subject in 10+2 or equivalent examination. The department is equipped with 20 Branded Lenovo as well as assembled computers with latest configuration and high computing system with hi-speed Internet facility, both wired and wi-fi for conducting laboratory sessions in diverse areas like Programming languages: CPP, Java and MySQL, Laboratories for Networking, Multimedia, Simulation, Parallel Computing etc. The prominent among them includes Data Structures, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, System Programming, Computer Networks, Data Mining and Warehousing, Distributed and Parallel Computing, Mobile and Wireless Computing, Real-time Systems, Cryptography, Genetic Algorithm and Artificial Intelligence. Apart from these, students are also offered a wide variety of electives.
