The St. Xavier College Alumni Association primarily aims to build a robust network of SXC Xaverians and contribute to the personal and career development of both present and past students. The association serves as a platform to bridge the gap between students and alumni, driven by ideals and values that ensure the upliftment of both present and future members.
The Federation of Jesuit Alumni Associations of India (JAAI) is an umbrella association that brings together all alumni associations of Jesuit academic institutions in India. Established during the Jesuit Alumni Congress in Chennai in 1995, JAAI has grown into a structured organization with a Governing Council, Constitution, and a rotating Secretariat. Since its inception, JAAI has hosted five national congresses and one international congress, with the 5th National Congress held in Trivandrum in 2007 under the theme "Role of Alumni in Resurgent India".
Motto:
"To give and not to count the cost."
Objectives of JAAI:
The World Union of Jesuit Alumni (WUJA) unites former students of Jesuit schools and universities worldwide, fostering international relationships and contributing to the mission of the Society of Jesus. WUJA organizes world meetings that focus on global issues aligned with Christian and humanistic values upheld by Jesuit education. Additionally, WUJA supports initiatives like the Pedro Arrupe World Association, especially in the field of education and social development.
With its extensive network of member associations, WUJA aims to federate and mobilize as many alumni as possible who are committed to the principles of their Jesuit education. By collaborating with local and national alumni groups, WUJA encourages the active participation of alumni in global humanitarian efforts and educational projects.
The St. Xavier College Alumni Association, through its association with JAAI and WUJA, continues to foster a spirit of camaraderie, social responsibility, and lifelong learning among its members, ensuring that the legacy of Jesuit education remains vibrant and impactful.
